In Western's English Department you'll find authors and scholars, poets and linguists, professional writers and translators, editors and publishers, podcasters, book reviewers, film critics, videomakers, teachers of the language arts, comic book and graphic novel experts, and more. Our courses explore the literature and cultural traditions from all around the world and across history. English majors go on to thrive in careers like law, business, government, writing, higher education, teaching, and administration and our graduates have high placement rates in professional programs.
