CHSS Annual Scholarships

CHSS has several undergraduate scholarships that are funded annually and available to students who are declared majors within one of our academic departments. To simplify the application process, students can apply for the Advancement Council Scholarship, Alumni Association Scholarship, and Sandberg Family Scholarship by submitting a single application; however, each scholarship has slightly different award criteria.

To be eligible for these scholarships, students be declared in a major within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and have at least three quarters of coursework remaining before anticipated graduation, as of the beginning of fall quarter in the year of award.

Advancement Council Scholarship

Alumni Association Leadership Scholarship

The Alumni Association Leadership Scholarship is awarded to students who are active within their community, participate in leadership building activities, provide service to others, succeed academically, and have financial need as documented by a FAFSA on file with WWU.

The Sandberg Family Scholarship is awarded to students with documented financial need who have transferred to Western from another university, community college, or technical college.
